For Science
Tsk- you'd figure at least ONE of these Twilights would remember that you've really gotta keep quiet in a library.  Looks like someone's already noticed their extracurricular experimentation with Moondancer!

This is a (very) late Christmas/Birthday/Second Christmas gift for a good friend of mine who's a huge fan of purples, particularly smart purples.  And this is about as much of this one that DeviantArt will allow me to show!  The full experience is up at Derpibooru;  just search for "artist:Shaxbert" without the quotes and you'll get probably more than you wanna see :3.

(I've known for a while that I do, in fact, have a funny face, so feedback on this point is not needed)

So I asked a question over at Tumblr yesterday and got a few interesting responses, and I thought I'd bring it on over to DeviantArt for even broader feedback:

Recently, I've become a big fan of Alatar's Blue Magic podcast, a show about makin' smut!  Each episode's an hour-long discussion with a guest artist/writer about their process, inspiration, and thoughts towards creating erotic art.  It's a really interesting show that covers a side of art that you don't hear about very often, even when you're waist-deep in it like I am!

The latest episode was all about artistic styles- making one, changing one, and learning others.  It featured a discussion between Alatar and their two amazing guest artists- ZoeStanleyArts and DieselBrain - about what exemplifies each of their styles to the others- including callouts on particular parts that the respective artists didn't expect.

Made me think about my own style, and realize (pretty quickly) that I'm not sure what constitutes the Shaxbert style in the first place. Obviously it's informed by my storied past of drawing a certain pair of Nintendo princesses- nearly every character I draw has bold outlines, bright colors and a slightly-uncomfortably-big head, but that's about it.  I'm actually really curious as to how you guys would describe the Shax style- good, bad, and inbetween!

(It's not just for idle curiosity, either; I've been wanting to experiment with some new tech lately, and it'd be handy to know what parts I should work on- and what parts people actually really like to begin with.)

Any sincere feedback would be appreciated!  Hit me up with a Comment, or send a Note if you'd like to keep it private :D.
Take It Squeezy, Peach!
...Even on a globe-trotting vacation, poor Peach can't catch a break.  Let's hope the Princess has 10 coins to spare!

Had to take a break from a big project to work out a bit of construction kink I've had stuck in my craw.  Y'all know how it goes :D.

Howdy folks!  Been a bit, huh?

Sorry about that- been hard at work beating the crust and grime off my atrophied art skills;  the holidays and a busier-than-expected late-fall season at work kinda did a number on my productivity!  Getting back into my groove, though, so more pics are comin' :D.

Speaking of which, just tossed a new pic of my goofy OCs up to the gallery:

Drew this one for Blackhook's OC Underboob Art Jam!

OC underboob art jam 2018 (Submissions Open)

Hook usually does a robo-/Megaman OC Underboob jam every year, but alas, I've always preferred my OCs to be a bit squishier, so I've never been able to participate.  This one couldn't have been timed better- got a lotta Clip Studio Paint practice in on it, fooled around with some new shading tech, AND I finally got to get the bondage-queen elf OC I've had rattling around in my empty head into a more visual medium.  Hoping to do a lot more with these three (and the world they inhabit) this year :D.

Speaking of OCs, the legendary lostonezero just released his latest DiD Guest Book Collection!   Featuring art of his perpetually-imperiled original Fantasy Frontier/Space Damsels characters, drawn by a crack team of nearly two dozen killer bondage/DiD/peril artists!

Loz DiD Guest Book Vol.2 preview by lostonezero

...And I drew something for it, too!  Go check it out- it's chock full o' wholesome goodness :D.

Not gonna happen, for a variety of reasons :/.  HOWEVER!  I'm taking all next week off, and I'm planning to devote much of it to getting back into picture-making practice!

Way back in the day, I actually followed your old account for the totally adorable Final Fantasy Tactics Advance fanart :XD:
Still love your use of colors, man.
